52 weeks of Easy knits

After the success of its two previous books, 52 Weeks of Socks and 52 Weeks of Shawls, the team of Laine Magazine is now presenting its latest production, 52 Weeks of Easy Knits, a unique and contemporary selection of 52 uncomplicated knitting patterns ranging from beanies, mittens and scarves to sweaters, socks and cardigans.

The designs are fun, cosy and modern, but above all, they are a pleasure to knit.

In this clear and colourful book, there are many super-easy, quick-to-finish patterns that are perfect for beginners. The more challenging ones offer meditative projects for those with a bit more experience. All the patterns are created using basic knitting techniques, and each step of the process is explained thoroughly. The book also includes useful information about choosing the right materials and finishing your garment.

52 Weeks of Easy Knits offers you knitting inspiration for years to come – the only difficult thing is deciding what to knit first!

We had the chance to collaborate on this publication with two very nice patterns in Gilliatt and Cyrano 🙂

The first one is “Kreuzberg” by Rebekka Mauser, a sleeveless striped jumper that invites you to play with the beautiful Gilliatt palette by combining 7 colours for a joyful and graphic result (and very motivating to knit)!

Pattern: « Kreuzberg » by Rebekka Mauser, published in 52 Weeks of Easy Knits, sizes 1 to 8

YarnGilliatt (100% French mérinos d’Arles and black Portuguese merino woolen spun in France, 250 m (270 yds) / 100g), 1 to 2 skeins of the colorway bruyère and 1 skein in each of the following colorways : l’heure bleue, genêt, bouleau, iroise, lagon and argile

The second pattern is Veera Välimäki’s “Sypressi” jumper knitted in Cyrano: a simple and beautifully graphic raglan jumper with fine stripes and raglan armholes. It is knitted seamlessly from the top-down and will be an ideal pattern for an introduction to knitting in the round with a very rewarding project.

Pattern : “Sypressi” by Veera Välimäki published in 52 Weeks of Easy Knits, sizes 1 to 8

Yarn : Cyrano by De Rerum Natura (100% French mérinos d’Arles and Portuguese black merino woolen spun, 150 m – 100 g, 4 to 7 skeins for main color (baleine bleue for the sample shown on picture 1 and genêt for the sample shown on picture 2), 1 à 2 pelotes pour le coloris contrastant -(érable for the sample shown on picture 1 and bois de rose for the sample shown on picture 2).
