Ulysse & Bérénice are in Making Stories’ last issue !

We were lucky enough to be featured in the Spring issue of the beautiful and committed magazine @_makingstories!
The theme of this playful issue is confetti and rainbows, interpreted in unusual and unconventional ways in 12 new knitting patterns – a joyful invitation to travel through colours, shapes, textures and materials 🙂

You can discover two lovely designs made from our yarns:
The ‘Coriandoli’ scarf by Valérie Rachel knitted with Ulysse ‘bouleau’ and Bérénice ‘crème’, ‘l’heure bleue’ and ‘argile’ held in double for a subtle layering effect that’s fun to knit,
and the ‘Confetti rain’ jumper by Nele Bostelmann, knitted with Ulysse ‘bouleau’ as the main color a Schoppelwolle Zauberwoll yarn as contrasting color. It’s a very cheerful and easy-to-wear design, created by imagining a jumper covered in a shower of confetti!

Confetti made out of dried flowers, collected over months from bouquets and the road side. Sparkly rainbows, light reflecting. Gentle textures and shapes, echoing the different forms confetti can take. An unexpected rainbow around the corner, on a brick wall, painted in broad strokes.

The first pattern is the “Confetti Rain” sweater by Nele Bostelmann, created in Ulysse ‘bouleau’ as the main color and a Schoppelwolle Zauberwoll yarn for the contrasting color.

It is knitted seamlessly from top to bottom in stockinette stitch, with a pattern in a contrasting color that punctuates the yoke and is repeated on the lower body and cuffs. The yoke is formed by short rows for a comfortable fit, and the collar is ribbed and folded over.

Pattern: « Confetti rain » by Nele Bostelman, available in English in Making Stories 13 in 10 sizes.

Coriandoli, the Italian word for “confetti”, is a delightful little shawl that highlights the distinct shape of the now-so-familiar paper confetti!

Coriandoli’s simple shape with rounded edges is complemented by large colorwork circles, worked by picking up and dropping strands of a lace weight yarn. It’s worked with our yarn Ulysse and Bérénice held together in garter stitch, flat, and has an I-Cord edge for a polished finish.

Pattern: « Coriandoli » by Valerie Rachel, available in English in Making Stories 13 in one size.
