Combining the textured freshness of Candide with the cozy voluptuousness of Bérénice may not seem obvious, but their marriage is a real pleasure to knit and wear 🙂
The resulting fabric is soft and plush without being too warm, and Bérénice’s vibrant colors nicely intensify the pastel colors of Candide’s natural range to create a rainbow of possibilities!

The gauge of our Candide and Bérénice yarns knitted together corresponds to a worsted yarn with the following variations depending on the size of needles used:
Gauge in 4 mm needles (slightly dense tension): 20 sts x 30 rows
Gauge in 4.5 mm needles (standard tension): 19 m x 28 rows
Gauge in 5 mm needles (soft tension): 18 m x 26 rows
Gauge in 5.5 mm needles (slight loose tension): 16 m x 22 rows
These swatches have been knitted in stockinette stitch, so you may obtain slightly different results depending on how you knit and whether you use other stitches (for example, cables will tend to tighten the stitches in width, whereas a lace stitch may, on the contrary, spread out slightly).

Here are a few ideas for patterns made in these two yarns knitted together:

“Alyssum sweater” by Tomomi Yoshimoto knitted in Candide “citronnade” + Bérénice “genêt” and Candide “sucre glace” + Bérénice “crème”

“Flocon Sweater” by Rui Yamamuro knitted in Candide “muscari” + Bérénice “petit matin”

“Flocon Tee” by Rui Yamamuro knitted in Candide “citronnade” + Bérénice “petit matin”
I hope these colors will inspire you to take the plunge and give it a try!
