A “BonBon Top” for our yarns Alice and Candide!

A little gem of freshness and delicacy! We’re delighted to present this ‘BonBon top’, the second design created for this summer in collaboration with the Korean designer @miir_knits!

‘BonBon Top’ is a little sleeveless top that fastens at the front, knitted from top to bottom in one piece, starting from the top of the back. It combines lace patterns, textured stitches and small scalloped edges for a charming and versatile result.

CONSTRUCTION

The top is worked seamlessly from top down: the back is worked first, then stitches are picked up along the shoulders to work the fronts.

After completing the armhole increases, the fronts and back are joined to complete the body and stitches are picked up around the armholes to knit the border, and around the neckline for the button bands.

TECHNIQUES USED AND SKILL LEVEL

This pattern is at an advanced level et willl require to know how to knit in the round, knit, read a chart, make increases (m1L/p, m1R/p) and decreases (ssk, k2tog and CDD), scalloped edge and an Italian bind-off.

GAUGE AND YARN CHOICE

This pattern is knitted here at a 25 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm gauge in the lace pattern.

Jung Sun choose our yarn Candide (70% organic Merino d’Arles, 30% recycled cotton ; 185 m / 50 g) in the natural shade « sucre glace » for her first sample which gives at this gauge a textured, structured fabric that really brings out the ribbing and scalloped edges.

This lightweight design also pairs beautifully with the delicate drape of Alice (75% organic Arles Merino and 25% linen, 216 m / 50 g), which will give it suppleness and a lovely drape.

Pattern “BonBon Top” knitted by Céline in size 3 in Alice « café crème » with the 1×1 rib option for the armholes edges. Céline wears this sample with a 10 cm positive ease.

Jung Sun choose the scalloped edge option for the armholes edges.
