For those looking for something to wander off on their needles, I’m delighted to share with you today the French version of the lovely “Ulm” shawl that Trin-Annelie created for Gilliatt! It knits from tip to tip, with a very creative play of textures and colors for a piece full of tenderness and modernity.
Anne’s explanations are perfectly detailed, and a step-by-step guide will help you make the butterfly stitch. It’s an ideal pattern for starting a shawl project with a slightly different construction and daring to use color in small touches!
Pattern : Ulm by Trin-Annelie, available in french and english on our website and in english on Ravelry
Yarn : Gilliatt, shown in “sel” / “poivre et sel” / “quartz” / “poivre” (3 balls for MC and 1 ball for each CC)

Anne chose a soft, natural palette for a very romantic version. I’ve had a lot of fun imagining other combinations, and the variations are almost endless, so you can play with your color desires and your stock 🙂
I hope this design inspires you, and we can’t wait to see your color choices!
Take care!
