The pretty “Brumeuil” top by Marianne Munier in Bérénice

A cloud on your shoulders!
Here is our version of the soft and light “Brumeuil” sleeveless cardigan designed by Marianne @mar.gue.nee in Bérénice!

With its deep V-neck and generous armholes, it will be perfect for warming up a shirt that is still a little light for the season and can also be worn over a tank top when spring arrives 🙂 It is knitted by combining two strands of Bérénice to create a light and wonderfully soft fabric that feels a bit like wrapping yourself in a piece of cloud!

Worked from the top down, “Brumeuil” is knitted seamlessly in one piece, working back and forth. It features a delicate fir tree-like pattern on the lower part of the garment. Discreet yet graphic, it stands out subtly against the reverse stockinette stitch, chosen to highlight this interplay of textures while maintaining the simplicity of the knit.

An i-cord border elegantly finishes the neckline and discreetly incorporates the buttonband. The armholes and bottom of the body are finished with a 1×1 rib border.

Our sample is knitted in size 38 with a positive ease of 20 cm at the chest. For the colours, we chose to combine Bérénice’s “eucalyptus” shade, a slightly greyish bluish green, with “brume”, a warm medium blue. This combination creates deep aquatic blue-green hues that change depending on the light.

Here are some ideas for blue-green combinations that we swatched with two Bérénice yarns:

For her part, Marianne knitted a version in “or rose” for her daughter and one for herself in “sauge”. A sweet mother-daughter duo!
