We love the rigorous and delicate work of the designer @trin_annelie and I am very happy to share with you today the release of her new pattern “Balou sweater” created for Gilliatt!
It’s a classically beautiful jumper with a two-colour yoke that mixes geometric patterns and small flowers for a graphic and light result. The small repeated patterns make it a great first project to get into colorwork 🙂
The pullover is worked in the round from the top down, starting with the colorwork yoke. Short rows are used to raise the back and improve the fit at the neckline. Once colorwork and shaping are complete, the work is separated for body and sleeves, which are both finished in the round.
Anne offers two neckline options to imagine several versions to knit during the year: a scoop neckline for cooler evenings and mid-season, and a large folded collar for a very cosy winter version.
Pattern: « Balou sweater » by Trin-annelie available in French and English on our website and Ravelry (sizes 1 to 9)
Yarn: Gilliatt (French Merino from Arles and Black Portuguese Merino, 250 m / 100 g) shown in « aster » / « bouleau » for the turtleneck version and « bouleau » / « nuit » for the crew neck version.
For the main colour you will need: (4, 5, 5, 5) (6, 6, 7, 7) balls for the crew neck version and 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) (6, 7, 7, 8) balls for the turtleneck version and one ball of the contrasting colour for both versions.
Thank you Anne for this beautiful pattern!
