Ulysse, Albertine & Bérénice are in the new issue of Making Stories!

We were lucky enough to be part of the beautiful, committed Making Stories magazine again for this Fall/Winter issue!

The theme of this issue is Art Nouveau, and you’ll find 12 knitwear patterns with intentional and intricate details, joyful, layered, exuberant and subtly integrated to create easy-to-wear everyday patterns.

You’ll discover two very pretty patterns made in our yarns:
“Tiffany lamp” by designer Laura Barker, who chose Ulysse for her sweater with its delicate jacquard pattern, and the very feminine ‘Wisteria’ by designer Agata Mackiewicz, knitted using a strand of Albertine ‘badiane’ and a strand of Bérénice ‘badiane’.

You’ll wander the streets of Brussels and Paris in search of the hidden architectural gems of Art Nouveau – houses, doors, windows, lampposts – discover the marvelous Jugendstil tiles of Berlin and absorb the work of watercolorists, glassblowers, jewelers, embroiderers and many others.

The patterns in this issue were created by:

Agata Mackiewicz, Anni Howard, Carly Bauer, Christie Wareham-Norfolk, Elena Dimchevska, Helen Metcalfe, Jule Kebelmann, Laura Barker, Makenzie Alvarez, Marina Skua, Natalie Sheldon, and Sabine Gschwind.

Laura Barker’s “Tiffany Lamp” is knitted in Ulysse: this sweater is seamless from the neck, starting with a colorwork yoke including increases, decreases and short rows. Once the yoke is complete, the body and sleeves are each knitted separately without seams.

The second pattern is the “Wisteria” by Agata Mackiewicz, created with Albertine and Bérénice knitted together in the color “badiane”. The ruffle at the bottom of the body and the balloon sleeves finished with a folded Stockinette stitch hem add a touch of romance to the design.
