Trin Annelie celebrates 10 years of design in style!

Anne @trinannelie is celebrating 10 years of design, which began in 2016 with the pretty ‘Winter’s fern hat’, already in Gilliatt colours!

We wanted to celebrate how far she has come and the renewed pleasure of combining her designs, always created with great attention to elegance and precision, with our wools and colours.

For the occasion, Anne has designed the ‘Fenn’ sweater and hooded cardigan: two twin designs that can be knitted in Gilliatt for a very natural, soft finish, or by combining Ulysse and Bérénice for a luxurious and extra cosy version!

Anne wears the “Fenn sweater” knitted in Ulysse “cyprès” + Bérénice “belle étoile” / Ulysse “eucalyptus”Bérénice “sauge” / Ulysse “doré” + Bérénice” caramel” / Ulysse “sel” + Bérénice “orgeat”

CONSTRUCTION

The sweater is worked in a seamless raglan construction. It starts with a provisional cast on and a few short rows to set up the neckline shape. After the colorwork is established, the yoke, body and sleeves are worked top down in the round.

The yoke is fully charted for each size and the pattern comes with a general chart and thorough instructions for the colorwork at the body and sleeves. The colorwork pattern uses only two colors at a time.

The pattern also provides some helpful tips on how to adjust it to suit your own preferences.

TECHNIQUES USED AND SKILL LEVEL

This pattern is at an intermediate to advanced level: skills required for this pattern include Crochet provisional CO, binding off, increasing and decreasing, knitting in the round and picking up stitches, colorwork, following a chart, German short rows.

It includes links to video or photo tutorials for specific techniques used as well as tips and notes on colorwork techniques and how to adjust this pattern to suit your own preferences.

HOW TO PICK YOUR SIZE

The « Fenn sweater » is available in 9 sizes corresponding to the finished measurements:

Chest circumference: 90.5 (99, 109.5, 118, 128.5) (139, 149.5, 158, 168.5) cm/36¼ (39½, 43¾, 47¼, 51½) (55½, 59¾, 63¼, 67½)”.

The recommended positive ease is between 10 and 20 cm: however, you can choose a size that gives you the ease you want.

For example, if your bust measurement is 95 cm, you can choose:

  • a size 3 for a positive ease of 14,5 cm at the bust

or

  • a size 4 for a positive ease of 20 cm.

The top-down construction allows you to easily adjust the length of the sleeves and bottom of the garment to your preference. The pattern also includes tips and suggestions for adapting the design to your body shape.
