Such a lovely jumper, warm and light, to enjoy the beauty of each stitch and the pleasure of proudly wearing what you’ve knitted!
This is the version knitted and worn by Céline of the lovely ‘Marnie’ jumper designed by Nadia Crétin-Léchenne @ncl_knits in Ulysse this winter.

CONSTRUCTION
This pattern is worked seamlessly from top to bottom, so it’s easy to adjust to your measurements and your desires.
It is knitted from the neckline with a delicate colorwork pattern on the yoke that plays with 3 colours. They are cleverly distributed so that there are only 2 colours on each row, making yarn threads management much simpler and making it an accessible pattern for colorwork beginners.
A few short rows after the motif enhance the back of the neckline and the rest of the knitting is done in a relaxing stockinette stitch in the round 🙂
The decreased on the sleeves are worked just before the cuff to create a discreet volume effect.

YARN & COLORS
For this version, we chose a warm, classic combination with Ulysse’s ‘tempête’, ‘doré’ and ‘poivre blanc’, and we also love Nadia’s fresh, cheerful version (photos below) in ‘iroise’, ‘bouleau’ and ‘potimarron’!
Ulysse is a two-ply woolen spun yarn that’s perfect for making beautiful garments in colorwork: its slightly fluffy texture means it ties stitches together well, and its bouncy quality means it smoothes out any irregularities when blocking. At 185m for 50g, it’s also a lightweight yarn that copes well with the extra thickness created by yarns threads on the wrong side, giving a supple result that’s particularly pleasant to wear.
