Sari Nordlund’s adorable ‘Poet tee’, presented this spring in Penelope, inspired us to try a more relaxed version in Robinson, which Céline immediately put on her needles 🙂
The pattern, which combines moss stitch and lace, comes out beautifully with this lightly textured yarn, which blends the softness of Arles merino with the freshness of recycled cotton. The pattern calls for a 20 sts x 28 rows gauge, which corresponds to the standard gauge of this yarn knitted with 4 mm needles for a regular, fairly dense finish.
We chose to lengthen the sleeves to a 3/4 length, perfect for mid-season, making it very versatile. With shorts for chilly mornings or pants for back-to-school season, it’s a pretty, comfortable, lightweight little sweater, with a “wow” result that’s particularly gratifying!

CONSTRUCTION
This pattern is worked seamlessly from top to bottom, so it’s easy to adjust to your own tastes and measurements: first the neckline is knitted flat, then the rest of the sweater is knitted in the round.

“Poet tee” pattern by Sari Nordlund knitted in Robinson “nougat” in size 3.
The pattern appears on the front and back of the sweater, and the raglan sleeves are knitted in stockinette stitch in the round. To finish, the neck band is made by picking up stitches along cast-on row.
