I’m delighted to share with you “delphinium” and “clematite“, the two new (and long-awaited) colors that have joined Ulysse and Gilliatt’s palette to prepare us for an energetic spring!
“Delphinium” is an intense, joyful blue composed of two shades of blue and violet with a hint of natural ecru to soften and bring depth to the mix. The result is a powerful yet subtle color that evokes the dazzling beauty of delphiniums when the warm weather returns.
Ulysse yarn colorway “delphinium” (185 m / 50 g), french carded Merino d’Arles made in France, Sport category, needles 2.5 to 3.5 mm
Gilliatt yarn colorway “delphinium” (250 m / 100 g), french carded Merino d’Arles made in France, worsted category, needles 4 à 5 mm
This modern, dense blue is a showstopper on its own, but can also be incorporated into your projects in small touches, combined with the natural colors in the range (“sel”, “poivre blanc”, “poivre et sel” et “poivre”), graded with “brouillard” and “baleine bleue” or “tempête” or creating lovely contrasts with the warm shades of “caramel” or “doré”.
“Clématite“ is a bold, vibrant violet. It is made from a flake-dyed wool blend that includes some of the dark violet hue found in “delphinium”, combined here with a more frank medium violet and a little more natural ecru. Together, these hues create a strong, energetic yet discreetly nuanced and changing shade.

This color is inspired by the vibrant hints of clematis in bloom. It can be paired gently with “bruyère” or “quartz” and all the natural colors in the range; it will sparkle with complementary colors such as “printemps”, “émeraude” or “sauge” greens, and create pretty, fresh contrasts with “crème anglaise” or “argile”.
I hope you like these colors and that they inspire you to try new things 🙂
