Crocheted Christmas ornaments

December’s already here and this year we wanted to offer you a new tutorial of simple, soft decorations to give the house and the tree a cosy, festive look!

Céline has got out her crochet hook and taken notes to share with you these pretty hanging ornaments that you can make into plain or multicolored versions by playing with your yarn scraps, and with two or four sides, in a ribambelle for a bohemian garland or on its own for a cute twirly ball!

Two-sided flat version:

Crochet two base discs.

With a contrasting color (or with color A or B) and starting from the invisible st, join two disks together with their wrong side facing each other with sc, inserting your crochet in the back strand of the disk placed on top and in the back strand of the disc placed below.

Once all st have been assembled, ch3 and make a sl st in the next st, break the yarn and fasten off invisible.

Weave in all ends and slip a thread into the loop.

4-sided embossed version:

Crochet 4 base discs, leaving about 1 meter of yarn for each disc once the invisible stitches of the last round have been completed for assembling. Do not weave in the ends.

Join each half-disc with WS facing each other in sc, starting from the last stitch worked and inserting your crochet into the back strand of the stitch of the disc positioned on top and into the back strand of the stitch of the disc positioned on the bottom.

Once the 4 discs are assembled, make a small loop with 3 ch, one sl st in the next m st and then fasten off invisible.

Weave in all ends and slip a thread into the loop.

Et voilà !
