The much-loved Laine Magazine @laine_magazine is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year!
To mark the occasion, the Laine team has put together a very special 236-page issue featuring 23 patterns created by international designers who have contributed to Laine’s journey over the years.
The designs in this special edition are by Fiona Alice, Alma Bali, Aleks Byrd, Rachel Brockman, Weichien Chan, Maxim Cyr, Dee Hardwicke, Jonna Helin, Susanna Kaartinen, Bernice Lim, Justyna Lorkowska, Sari Nordlund, Marie Régnier, Tiia Reho, Camille Romano, Lis Smith, Orlane Sucche, Lene Tøsti, Maaike van Geijn, Sylvia Watts-Cherry and Julia Wilkens.
This issue also includes an Editor’s Letter written by Laine’s founder Jonna Helin, where she reflects on Laine’s journey, as well as the designers’ memories of Laine.
We were lucky enough to be invited to take part in this wonderful celebration, and designer Lis Smith @oldsaltstudioschose the cosy Ulysse ‘darjeeling’ yarn to knit her lovely « Sidonie » jumper.

For this pullover by Lis Smith, a lace pattern from her first design for Laine — the Sido shawl — is revisited and reimagined.

6 (7, 8, 9, 10) (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) balls of Ulysse by De Rerum Natura (100% French mérinos d’Arles and Portuguese black merino woolen spun, 203 yds / 185 m –50 g), in the colourway “darjeeling”.
Or approx. 1175 (1295, 1520, 1705, 1890) (2190, 2330, 2530, 2825, 2985) yds / 1075 (1185, 1390, 1560, 1730) (2005, 2130, 2315, 2585, 2730) m of sport-weight yarn.

22 sts x 34 rnds to 4” / 10 cm on US 5 / 3.75 mm needles in St St, after blocking.
27 sts x 37 rnds to 4” / 10 cm on US 5 / 3.75 mm needles in Yoke Patt, after blocking.
