After many wonderful years of creative commitment, inspiration, and sharing, Making Stories magazine is bowing out with this 14th issue. We have been fortunate to participate frequently in the collections warmly imagined by Hanna-Lisa, and we will always hold a special place in our hearts for this beautiful adventure, just like the lovely Ulysse hat featured on the cover of this final issue!
This issue focuses on the forest: journey with the team to enchanted old growth trees, clearings with rays of sunlight filtering through the canopy, tiny mushrooms on mossy logs, and a cozy cabin with a view over the woods.
Designs by:
Anna Hechtman, Emma Vining, Gabrielle Koizumi, Jimmy Myers, Kristin Bailey, Mami Hayashi, Nidhi Kansal, Rebecca Duncan, Sanni Pauliina, Sara Ottosson, Sol Le Roux, Solène Amary

You will discover in this issue two beautiful designs made with our yarns:
the pretty, colorful Beaten Track hat by designer Sara Ottosson, knitted in Ulysse “potimarron” and “merlot”, as well as the beautiful, very soft “Tales from the Cabin” shawl designed by Anna Hechtman in Ulysse and Bérénice “poivre et sel” knitted together.

Pattern: « Beaten Track » by Sara Ottosson, available in English in the Making Stories 14
The beanie is worked bottom up in mosaic knitting where you only work with one colour at a time. It has a triple-folded brim for extra warmth and the crown uses only one type of decrease. It is worked in the same direction throughout with the same size needles. The brim is worked in three sections: first a patterned one, then in stockinette stitch that in the end is worked together with the cast on edge, and with a final section of 1×1 rib which lies closest to the head for a better fit. For some extra bedazzle the patterned crown is finished with an optional pompom.

Pattern: « Tales from the cabin » by Anna Hetchman, available in English in the Making Stories 14
This shawl begins with a simple garter tab that forms the centre top of the shawl. A garter edge frames the design, with the shaping occurring by increasing with make ones. The design moves through three distinct stitch patterns, a quilted lattice, small cables and a leaf motif. A row of eyelets separate each section. The shawl finishes with a picot bind off.
